There is much confusion on when an image is copyright protected and when it isn’t.

There shouldn’t be any confusion at all. EVERY image ever taken by a photographer (beginner to aged veteran) is protected by copyright laws...period.

Just because an image does not have the © on it, doesn’t mean it isn’t copyright protected...it is.

Whether or not someone pursues you for a copyright violation is an entirely different issue.

So please respect the copyrights of the photographers who caputured the imagery...even your own.

Most people don’t mind if you copy imagery for personal use, but be polite and ask them before simply “stealing” it off the web.
